The unusual interest of Corona to intervene in the case of the lifting of the TRO favoring ex president Arroyo should raise concerns. Corona and the other justices who favored issuing the TRO are the same justices who owe Gloria their tenured jobs. Any issue regarding the TRO should have been remanded to the lower courts. Fairness and wisdom are the cornerstone of the justice system but not with Corona's court (of jesters not jurists). These words have lost their meaning and relevance.

There is a distortion of the value of service to the country and the debt of gratitude that has to be repaid to that person to whom a job was owed. When a person accepts a public job ,the personal debt disappears and the fidelity to the office and to the people take precedence. The current value system practiced by justices in the highest court of the land is abhorrent (disgusting, detestable); they will never serve the interest of the country that look up to these justices for fairness and wisdom. Both GMA & the former FG are like poker players who put a lot of chips on the table on the table & scared off everyone else..except this time, the president & DOJ's De Lima called their bluff & was 'all in.' The people in that body is not the Court, so they are not beyond the reach of laws governing membership of that constitutional body. Justice Corona of the Philippine SC should re-visit his freshman Law 101: The right to travel is not absolute, for example, " a theatre of war may be too dangerous for travel; pestilences may rage the given area, making it necessary to protect not only the traveler but those he/she might infect on is/her return andso forth." I just saw the Philippine Medical Association says GMA bone problems can be treated in Philippines....even though her specific bone problem has never been treated before in the Philippines. The unusual interest of Corona to intervene in the case of the lifting of the TRO favoring ex president Arroyo should raise concerns. Corona and the other justices who favored issuing the TRO are the same justices who owe Gloria their tenured jobs. Any issue regarding the TRO should have been remanded to the lower courts. Fairness and wisdom are the cornerstone of the justice system but not with Corona's court (of jesters not jurists). These words have lost their meaning and relevance.

There is a distortion of the value of service to the country and the debt of gratitude that has to be repaid to that person to whom a job was owed. When a person accepts a public job ,the personal debt disappears and the fidelity to the office and to the people take precedence. The current value system practiced by justices in the highest court of the land is abhorrent (disgusting, detestable); they will never serve the interest of the country that look up to these justices for fairness and wisdom. Their decisions will always be colored (bias). The country is better served if they are gone. These 8 justices should have recused themselves based on the principle of conflict of interest. Islas de Ladrones has really a big problem their Supreme Court is divided into two factions GMA appointees and President BS Aquino's appointees so far the majority are GMA's stooges. Rep. Dato Arroyo in a written statement requested that Filipinos respect her mom. Foremost among our customs is intense family loyalty. He was raised to have total respect for his parents, grandparents & other older relatives. It's common for Filipino children to support their parents in a manner that is unusual by western standards. He basically said that what will be will be. In short..bahala na. It's now either fate or fortune. If however she's found guilty then it's God's will & will be accepted by his family. Posters here implied that SC justices whom Arroyo appointed will always take her side while Carpio and other Aquino appointees will side with the administration. Now, if this will be the natural course, then our supreme court will become a tool of the political departments of the government instead of being independent. Thus, when all Arroyo appointees retire, all P-noy wanted the SC to do will be done, and, by that time, our SC is no longer independent as justices will chose to be popular with the President rather than decide on the basis of their conscience.
