Happy Holidays to PHILNEWS Readers the World Over

e’ve been around now for 20 years, so we would like to take the opportunity to say a heart-felt “Thank You” to all who, in one way or another, have been with us during our two decades of online existence. To those of you who’ve sent us your comments (or continue to send us your comments), our special “thanks” for taking the time express your views and opinions to us and the world.

The Philippines presently faces trying times and is going through an unprecedented period in its history as a nation. Filipinos living abroad might view the current situation in the Philippines somewhat differently from the majority of those living in the country.  So PHILNEWS will endeavor to present the arguments of both sides. However, as we have done in the past, our editorials will always make an argument and take a stand for the position we believe in because that is what editorials are supposed to do. Unlike standard news articles which require fairness and balance, an editorial expresses the editor’s opinion.

We must also reiterate that in the 20-year existence of PHILNEWS we have never accepted money for any of our editorials. If we are for an issue, it is because we believe in it. We’ve also changed our opinion a few times, and that’s because we realized we were wrong, or because the situation had changed so that our earlier views were no longer valid.

In the years ahead, we will continue to do what we’ve been doing and we hope you continue to visit us regularly. So Maligayang Pasko, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and may we all have great year ahead. - PNL Published 12/23/2016
