We all know that China will never give up their claim on every shoal/ reefs they want to claim, especially on areas which is own by the Philippines, without the help of our neighboring allies like Japan , China will
continuously encroach on us until they get bloated, it is also dangerous to negotiate with them since they are so greedy, the only way we can do is to be firmed with our decision of claiming what is ours, if China see that other world powers are
against them he will stop this aggression.

China had always claimed indisputable sovereignty over those islands in South China Sea. China is using the nine dotted line to bolster her claim. Even if the Hague rules that all those islands remain as international waters, China is in no mood to respect or abide by the Hague ruling. The US and other western countries including Japan has to enforce the ruling regarding maritime boundaries, fishing areas, oil and gas exploration within each of the claimants' EEZ . Moreover, all military structures built by China in the Spratlys should be dismantled to avoid armed conflict and ease the tension in this region. The sentiment of the world is with those smaller countries that China is trying to bully. CHINA HAD GONE TOO BIG FOR HER BREECHES. Someone had to step in and say to Chinese leaders: enough is enough!

World leaders [must] respect our leaders and country. Our leaders, politicians, military, police are thieves. We are the red light district of the world with 7 to 10 men visiting. Serious crime,
murders and robbery and rape are as common as a cold. RESPECT. We don t even respect our fellow Filipinos.

I dont think George understood that joint oil and gas arrangement between China and RP in early 2000. This was a treaty and
therefore perfectly legal. Where is the element of TREASON you are invoking here? The treaty was about sharing geological data and fishing arrangement to prevent Chinese
poaching in the Spratlys. China violated that trust by claiming the Spratlys. Trllianes was sent to China by Aquino regarding the harassment by China of Zambales fishermen in Scarborough Shoal. One of the top Chinese official was known to Trillianes. It was a diplomatic way of avoiding conflict. Trillianes had to travel to continue the dialogue thus avoiding any International incident while the issue of island ownership was still under arbitration in the Hague.

Some critics & apologists of Red China conceive themselves as experts in
world politics. However, the world itself remains a riddle, a puzzle or a
mystery to be solved or interpreted. The landscapes of the Republic of the
Philippines are the immediate reality on the part of Filipino voters, yet they
take for granted the things they don't know about the nature of the unfinished
business of their democratic institutions. The Filipino people think that they
elected brilliant men of women in politics like president Arroyo, president
Aquino, president Estrada & others, but the fact remains: majority of Filipino
politicians are not rational-choice-making statesmen. They are willing to
welcome the blood thirsty Chinese communists to cure their economic, social &
political ills. The slow awakening of Filipino leaders leads to re-emergence of
"history which is a nightmare from which they're trying to awake!"

Someone said, I think president Duterte has a golden opportunity to make history: a firm commitment to action, or to struggle & sacrifice for strong presidential leadership. Why? History is always waiting for honest & resolute leaders who are endowed with determination to actualize the concept of political will. My reaction: I will remember this person as the most reckless leader of our time. The most disgusting too. Just what sacrifice will this guy perform for the people? On the other hand, with his leadership approach which disregards the presumption of innocence and the advocacy of mob rule, a lot of people will be sacrificed in order for him to reach his objective... Signs of a strong leader? NO. Sounds like a weak leader to me.

The Filipino apologists of Red Chinese were deeply infected by the disease of
Marxist-Leninist-Maoist ideology. What is the sinister goal of Communist Chinese
ideology? You don't need to be a stupid & an ignorant radical student of the
University of the Philippines to comprehend that the followers of the
blood-thirsty Red Chinese are willing to unleash their hatred & envy [with moral
righteousness, of course] against democratic capitalism. According to Communist
Chinese, capitalism is theft, and yet, they practice its principles & they can't
satisfy their thirst for greed in invading the entire Spratly islands. I think
greed is the modern currency of the Communist Chinese thought. I think the
Filipinos will be forever children, without a past, a tradition, & so forth.
They can be easily manipulated by Filipino-Chinese leaders like president
Aquino, who pretends to be a patriot by attending the Independence celebration
of the Republic of the Philippines. Who gave power to Filipino-Chinese leaders &
businessmen? The manipulated & enslave Filipino voters & yellow journalists, of
course, are the creators of their own miseries.

WA-KA-NGA!!! To Jerome Lim: I appreciate your comments. But I am not really complaining about anything. I just cannot help myself when a blogger crosses the line and tries to outtalk me using sarcasm and name calling. I never start a fight with anyone. I always watch my manners and I take pains not to hurt people's feelings. But once provoked I will attack relentlessly. To me it's just about the Golden Rule. "Do unto others.... This incoming president is a corrosive element to the moral fiber of 100 million Filipinos by condoning media killings, illegally assassinating drug suspects without due process, advocating uncontrollable vigilante group to acquire a 007 license, and suppressing freedom of expression of those who don't share his views. He wanted to talk peace with terrorists. Only demented people negotiate with terrorists and hope to achieve peace. That is wishful thinking!

I think Mr. Locsin idea of crime as a legal concept, for example, death penalty in a Third World country [ see Teditorial: The Bow That Elected Him] was poorly research & argued. According to Mr. Locsin, the restoration of the death penalty in the Philippines is barbaric. But First World countries don't consider capital punishment as "repugnant to civilized societies; it does not offend the conscience of society." Mr. Locsin must ask himself a simple question: What is it about in his country that breeds epidemic violent crime? Do you think the unabated increase of drug mules [domestic & foreign] will not haunt any respectable society? History of the former USSR will remind you that "after the Soviet Empire collapsed, street crime increased along with general disorder." I think majority of the Filipino people are losing their faith in criminal justice system: "criminal justice must not reluctant to teach a lesson to the people it punishes." In fact, some scholars believe that there are "born criminals." I think death penalty will put a damper on the proliferation of heinous crimes. Again, from the point of justice, drug mules & rapists must not eat the children of the Filipino people alive. Will you allow criminals to impoverished the life of the peace-loving & law-abiding Filipino people? Drug trafficking is a terrible blight on modern society. Mr. Locsin must remember that "a society or a community in which anything goes will self-destruct in no time. Philippines will make like the Beirut of 1980s: a Sunday school picnic."

In-coming chief Bato de la Rosa is promising that he will resign if he can't bring the crime rate down. I am skeptical. What percent are we talking about? Right now we are reading reports of unsolved murders of suspected people engaged in drugs, random killings, chop chop bodies, missing persons, etc. After June 30 murders or homicides will rise and will remain unsolved because of this war on crime with no boundaries. As to the drug menace, lets us be honest with
ourselves. There is the China connection. Chinese national set up makeshift meth labs under the very noses of local officials. The police and local officials are involved. The poor and the innocent kids being used to push the drugs to adult users who can afford to get a fix. There are a quarter to a million shabu users. How to whack them ( instead of rehabilitating them) is hard to explain to a world who is watching us. Drug use started with the
bourgeoisie and those people in the entertainment industry, but has now gained inroads in the rural and economically depressed areas. Go after the source of the drugs and users, PNP chief , before you go after the pushers and ending their young lives too soon.

I don't need the advise of [someone] to improve my writing skill in this forum. I think you like my style of writing. Why? You keep on attacking my ideas in this forum. As I've underscored, even your idol Mr Rodis has no monopoly on knowledge. What is the use of your shallow comment if it will not improve your thinking? If all that it does [your shallow education] for you is to enable you to write abstruse questions of politics or science, logic, devoid of essential questions of everyday life, & so on? Haven't you noticed that your vocabulary power is below standard of a sophisticated university educated critic? I think it is not feasible, or challenging to think, honestly, of world events & other people's lives with limited education on your part. Again, I am not a conformist critic. It is a self-delusion to think that a lawyer like Mr. Rodis knows everything. Any journalist or any lawyer is not devoid of falsehood: "Falsehood is not only a discrepancy between what is said or written & what is meant." Are you a true lover of humanity? I don't think so. Why? It seems that you will continue to deceive yourself that your opinions or comments & knowledge of the English Language are superior from other critics. Again, "a true lover of men will never deceive himself or other critics or your neighbor." I think your wounded pride is what keeps you "lynching your soul or spirit or mind." There is a kernel of truth that the greatest sin of man is to forget that he is an intellectual, a prince, a statesman, a despot, a brilliant religious guru---that he has a supernatural power." In other words, you live in a world of veils. What is the cure for the mendacity that binds a man's existence? If you don't know the answer to this simple question, your are free to fly a kite.

President Duterte must stop the penetration of macro-micro drugs traffickers into his beloved country. "Mexico has been penetrated by drug mules in the highest level of their government." The Philippine Republic can't afford to be ruled by criminal linkages [i.e., either through political corruption or illegal financial transaction of corrupt politicians & perpetuation of ill-gotten wealth of elected politicians pretending to be public servants], which will eventually create a disaster in the conduct of Philippines micro-macro policies. It is common knowledge that criminal linkages will remain a dynamic feature in the world.

I consider myself as an eclectic critic. I haven't encountered in my leisure hours any Filipino writer whose opinion is original. As a lifetime student of ideas, I thrive in the ebb & flow of world events. If I don't find the PNL editorial interesting, I will prefer to engage in educational meandering. Let me expose your ignorance of Bonapartist ideology & the Bonapartist interpretation of popular sovereignty. Napoleon's dictatorship was conferred by the people of France in accordance with constitutional rules [see his letter to the Assembly written from London on May 24, 1848: the issue of Revolution was founded upon universal suffrage]. My question is, how popular sovereignty [if it is inalienable] can be suppressed by itself? this is an easy question. But I don't think the mercenary can answer this question. If you don't know the answer, you can utilize your Google scholarship in this forum. I have another bonus question for you to contemplate: How will you synthesize the antagonistic concepts of democracy & popular sovereignty manifested in a democratic ballot box?

Is patriotism passe? [see Randy David]: "I have always loved my country & I
am sure that I shall her until death..." I think Rizal knew that his beloved
country would never run out of heroes or "juveniles" who were the true creators
of history: "History is made by men who have the restlessness, ruthlessness,
credulity & capacity to make believe of children." The political & social
landscapes of ancients & medieval periods would reveal the dynamic juvenile
characters of their leaders, for example, Joan of Arc was 17 when she invaded
Orleans from the British, Charles V became emperor at the age of 20, the Black
Prince was 16 when he became famous in the battle of Crecy. Perhaps Rizal was a
rare patriot. He tried to demonstrate that the power of the human though was
boundless; it was a powerful tool against injustice. Rizal knew that history was
inevitable for skeptics or pessimists & optimists alike.

A lot of people, some 17 million of them, believed that Duterte will restore order when his focus is on crime, drug menace and punishment. All of the above are mere symptoms of poverty and complete breakdown of our moral integrity. One could never invoke the power of CHANGE if the top is unhinged. It is easy for the country to move forward by the examples their chosen leader show to his constituents. A true leader unites and not divides. Peoples' trust on Duterte is but a quarter and this alarms me. No wonder the media is no friend of his because the media is skeptical of what he could do within the limits of the law.

I agree with you Sam on your critical but objective observation of the blog of the man from Taft. Much of what is found in his blogs have nil or zero intellectual value. Maslow talks of man' hierarchy of needs from the basic to self realization. Hacienda Luisita is in Tarlac and not in Pampanga. Pampanga is Arroyo country; Tarlac is Cojuangco's. Many readers dismiss what this man writes and never check the accuracy of what he wrote.

I don't believe that politics, technical questions [even the complex structures of the English Language] & so on should be the monopoly of the experts, elites, "yellow journalists", & shallow critics like the mercenary in this forum. We don't advocate ideological posturing, or the end of reason in this forum. I think PNL is not a forum for a shouting match that will suppress the voice of reason. Every critic is entitled to his opinion.
But the fact remains, I think we have "a common quest for intellectual truth or
certainty." I do believe that knowledge like the sky is not limited to lawyers,
doctors, scientists, philosophers, religious preachers [or priests],
politicians, educators & the field of pure or hard science itself.

The "erudite" man from Taft must understand or comprehend the principle of crime and punishment and the contrast between good and evil. No society allows evil deeds to flourish hence punishment is inevitable. Rewards are given to those who do good. Even God understood the above principles. The Great Deluge is classic example of extreme punishment. Some countries are more humane in using lethal injection as a method of execution for capital offences; others prefer hanging or firing squad. For the morons, decapitation is more appropriate. For the ignoramus, back to school and away from this forum.

Citizen's arrest is not an easy matter. Confronting a drug dealer and
shooting him for resisting arrest is more dangerous. The arguments are quite
east to understand: (1) in citizen's arrest , the person arresting another must
be informed why that person is being arrested. (2) an arresting citizen must
have a gun license to begin with to protect himself (3) drug dealers are well
armed and would surely fight back (4) innocent people could get hurt on a
shootout with a suspected drug dealer (5) there is no stand your ground law in
the Philippines. (6) the incidence of homicide will rise . (7) some would sue
and the government will be forced to settle for wrongful deaths.(8) The word of
the incoming president as to dealing with drug dealers is not the current law of
the land.

Senator Vicente favors the imposition of death penalty on drug cases. The range of drug cases could range from those who bring in drugs to the country, to those who manufacture and distribute , to those who control the drug market (drug lords), to those who push the drugs (the salesmen), and those who use and buy drugs. Similarly, the kinds of drugs could vary from marijuana, to amphetamines, to crack cocaine, opium and mind altering drugs to even medically prescribed addicting medications. Here we have to apply the rule that punishment must fit the crime. Do you hang a drug addict instead of rehabilitating him or do you execute those who bring drugs to the country by firing squad as the appropriate method of punishment? Please don't rush into judgment just to please the incoming president. Capital punishment is a social issue and not a political issue. DON'T GET CONFUSED.

I thought that the DepEd rolled out the K-12 program hurriedly without much preparation. I am saying this because ( 1) parents were caught flat footed. (2) the
infrastructure was inadequate (3)conveyors of knowledge were not enough (4)
students on the 10th grade were never given an honest assessment of their skills like : logic, management, people, mechanical, communication, judgment, attention, thinking , physical, and senses ( visual and auditory). Students and parents will take the easy route, which is the academic track. What we need are mechanical skills that
we could export to the western and middle eastern countries. This government lost sight of that or was it? Where are the polytechnics , if we are to replicate the Singapore experience? THIS IS JUST A THOUGHT FOR THE

Re: The Federal System.--There will be new Government Officials when the Federal system starts. I hope that
since they are adding officials, they have to also abolish some government agencies that has n ot given any constructive good in governing the Filipinos..The theory under this system is authority is spread out to several entities.. Right now, every big deal has to be approved by
Malacañang. The Federal system would create several federal agencies , I believe it would be based on 6 or 7 regions of authority. I hope the
corruption is minimized. But the first thing they should do is to increase the salaries of Judges as they tend to make money where else from the case that are pending in their courts branches.

Treason is a frivolous lawsuit of Duterte against Trillianes. The charge has no legal leg to stand. Moreover it is hard to establish malicious intent on the part of Trillianes acting as an emissary of Aquino to stop Chinese naval boats from harassing Zambales fishermen from fishing on Panatag Shoal. We have to remember that the matter of ownership of those islands in South China is under arbitration . There are other claimants other than the Philippines. As a former prosecutor Duterte should know better than making this frivolous lawsuit.
